Samsung Galaxy S5, Galaxy S5-LTE Receive Major Price Cuts in India

Samsung seems to have quietly slashed the price of its flagship smartphone in India, the Galaxy S5, alongside the LTE-variant of the handset.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 is now officially available at Rs. 43,250 on the company's online India store, compared with the Rs. 51,500 price the smartphone was launched at - a price cut of Rs. 8,250. The Samsung Galaxy S5-LTE is now available at Rs. 45,290, down roughly Rs. 8,150 from its launch price of Rs. 53,448.
As of now, it is not clear whether the massive price cuts of Rs. 8,250 (Galaxy S5) and Rs. 8,158 (Galaxy S5-LTE) is part of a limited period offer or is a permanent one.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 (Review | Pictures) went on sale in India via Samsung's India online store and physical retail stores at Rs. 51,500 in April. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S5-LTE variant went on sale at Rs. 53,448 in July.
It's likely that the South Korean company is preparing the ground for the launch of its latest phablet, the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, which was unveiled at IFA. Earlier on Monday, Samsung revealed pricing of its Galaxy Note 4 to be EUR 699 (about Rs. 54,500) including taxes in Germany.
At EUR 699, the Galaxy Note 4 appears set to be the most expensive smartphone from Samsung's stable when it launches in India. The new Galaxy Note series smartphone is expected to be available globally in October and is to be launched in a phased manner.
Alongside the Galaxy Note 4, Samsung also unveiled the Galaxy Note Edge with a unique edge display.
