Huawei Launches Metal-Clad Ascend G7 With Android 4.4 KitKat at IFA
Huawei at its pre-IFA event in Berlin has also announced the metal-clad Ascend G7smartphone, apart from the Ascend Mate 7. The Ascend G7 smartphone is priced at EUR 299 (approximately Rs. 23,400), and will first come to Denmark, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Norway, Mexico, Poland, Spain, South Africa, Turkey, and the Netherlands, with other regions to follow later, according to the company.
The single SIM (Micro-SIM) Ascend G7 runs Android 4.4 KitKat with EMUI 3.0 skinned on top. It features a 5.5-inch HD (720x1280 pixels) IPS display that offers a pixel density of 267ppi.
The Ascend G7 smartphone is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core (Cortex-A5) 64-bit Snapdragon 410 processor coupled with 2GB of RAM. It packs a 13-megapixel (f/2.0) rear camera with LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.
The 16GB internal storage on the device can be expanded via microSD card (up to 64GB). Connectivity options on the device include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPRS/ EDGE, GPS/ A-GPS, 3G and 4G LTE Cat 4. The Ascend G7 packs a 3000mAh battery. The smartphone measures 153.5x77.3x7.6mm and weighs 165 grams.

The company at its event has also confirmed (via Android Central) that its Ascend P7 Sapphire Edition will also launch in limited quantities later this quarter in China. The website has also detailed the specifications for the Ascend P7 Sapphire Edition, which include a 5-inch full-HD (1080x1920 pixels) display; 1.8 GHz octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 910T SoC; 2 GB of RAM; 16GB internal storage; LTE Cat 4; 13-meagpixel rear camera; 8-megapixel front camera, and a 2500mAh battery.
